Messaging app fraud
Signal Groups, Mentors, and What They Actually Sell
WhatsApp and Telegram investment groups follow a fixed script. This site documents it.

How the groups operate
- An unknown number adds you to a group without consent.
- A mentor posts consistent winning trades to build credibility.
- Members are directed to deposit into a platform the group controls.
- Withdrawals are blocked or conditional on further deposits.

The mentor is part of the scheme
Telegram and WhatsApp groups running investment fraud typically feature one authority figure, a self-described analyst or fund manager, whose role is to generate trust before any money moves. Other group members who post profits are usually controlled accounts. The platform the group promotes is not regulated. Deposits are not held in any segregated or protected account.
Two platforms, one playbook
WhatsApp groups
WhatsApp groups add victims through number harvesting or compromised contacts. Group size is kept small, typically under 50 members, to simulate exclusivity. Admins restrict posting rights so only scripted accounts speak. Victims are moved to a one-on-one chat before the deposit request comes. The group is deleted once the operator withdraws funds.
Telegram groups
Telegram groups exploit the platform’s channel and bot features to automate fake trade alerts. Some operations run public channels with tens of thousands of subscribers before directing followers into private deposit groups. Telegram’s pseudonymous accounts make operator identification harder for victims. Regulatory complaints have been filed in the UK, US, Australia and across the EU.

| Withdrawal process | Processed within stated terms | Blocked, delayed or requires extra fees |
Every group reviewed for this site used the same structure: a trusted figure, a closed chat, and a platform that existed only to receive deposits.
